Located in West Chicago, Illinois, this 64,000 square foot manufacturing plant has produced over 8 million brake shoes in the last three years alone.

Beginning with high tensile strength steel backing and specially formed composition lining, Anchor has succeeded in producing a brake shoe with superior adhesion, even in extreme cold weather climates. This lead-free, asbestos-free high friction material provides shorter stopping distances and superior resistance to metal pickup. Anchor Brake Shoes are manufactured to Association of American Railroads (AAR) M-926 requirements. They are designed to meet most railroad needs for locomotive and freightcars, from 40-ton to 125-ton service.
